Terms of Service

Quartet ("we", "our", "us")

Effective date: April 13, 2026 · Contact: legal@quartet.tools

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using Quartet — including the GitHub App, the web dashboard at quartet.tools, or any associated automation — you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use the service. Installation of the Quartet GitHub App constitutes acceptance on behalf of yourself and, where applicable, your organization.

2. What Quartet Is

Quartet is an autonomous PR review platform for GitHub teams. It operates as a GitHub App that automatically reviews pull requests using AI models configured by each tenant, manages the review lifecycle, and can auto-merge PRs that pass review.

Quartet is model-agnostic: tenants supply their own API keys and choose which external AI providers to use (for example Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Mistral, or self-hosted models). Quartet does not supply or resell API access to any AI provider.

Quartet is an independent third-party tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially supported by GitHub, Anthropic, or any other platform or AI provider.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have the authority to bind your organization to these terms. By installing Quartet, you represent that you have the necessary permissions to grant the GitHub App access to the selected repositories.

4. Organization Administrator Responsibilities

Organization administrators who install Quartet bear full responsibility for:

Quartet reviews code as instructed by its configuration. We are not responsible for the consequences of merging code that Quartet approved.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Quartet to:

Violation of these terms may result in immediate revocation of access without notice.

6. Code Content and AI Review

Quartet sends PR diff content to the AI provider configured by the tenant using the tenant's own API credentials. By using Quartet, you acknowledge that:

7. Service Availability

Quartet is provided on a best-efforts basis. We do not guarantee:

Unplanned outages caused by third-party platform changes (GitHub, AI providers, AWS) are outside our control.

8. Data and Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of your source code. Quartet does not store PR diff content beyond the duration of the review. PR metadata (number, branch, author, review state) is stored in DynamoDB with a 90-day TTL.

Quartet's name, design, and all associated software remain our property. No part of the service may be reproduced or redistributed for commercial purposes without written permission.

9. Disclaimers

QUARTET IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We are not liable for bugs introduced by auto-merged PRs, missed security vulnerabilities in reviewed code, or any consequence arising from reliance on AI-generated review comments.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Quartet's total liability for any claim arising from use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim. Where Quartet is provided free of charge, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access at any time for violation of these terms or abusive use. You may terminate your use at any time by uninstalling the Quartet GitHub App from your organization. Upon uninstallation, all associated data expires automatically via TTL (90 days). For immediate deletion, contact privacy@quartet.tools.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes in the service, legal requirements, or platform policies. Material changes will be posted at quartet.tools/terms with an updated effective date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Santa Clara County, California.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Quartet and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the service in violation of these Terms; (b) your choice of AI provider and your agreement with that provider; (c) code, content, or data you submit for review; or (d) any claim by a third party that your use of Quartet violates their rights or applicable law.
